Note: Agents should begin prompting clients early in the relationship to be ready to write them an honest, genuine review at the end of the transaction. Agents should probe to determine if the client is familiar with consumer written reviews at Yelp, Google, and Zillow. If they are not, it will be easier to ask the client to simply write their review on your website in the Testimonial section.
Beginning of the Relationship Script:
"How buyers and sellers find agents online is often driven by agent ratings and reviews. It is [my/our] goal to deliver a positive client experience. At the end of our transaction, would you please write [me/us] an honest, genuine review?"
The goals is for the client to say "YES". More on "YES" later.
Mid-Term of the Transaction Script:
"Don't forget, when the transaction is completed, [I/we] will be asking you to please write [me/us] a review of your experience. I can count on you to write a review, correct?"
The obvious answer you are looking for is "YES"! There is power in a spoken "YES". That YES secures a commitment from your client.
At the End of the Transaction (Escrow/Closing) Script:
"It has been a delight serving and representing you as your [Buyer's/Seller's] agent. As you know, ratings and reviews help other buyers and sellers find [me/us]. Please take a moment to write your honest review on one of these sites - Yelp, Google, or Zillow. Thank you for the honor to serve you and help you with your real estate needs! If you know anyone who needs help buying or selling, please remember to recommend [me/us]."
